Plastic bag fall mini album

Hello and welcome back to my little corner. If you came from http://www.kristaspapercafe.com/ then you are in the right place. If you want to start a the beginning of the hop then you would go to http://scrappyscavenger.wordpress.com/  .So you are here for Tanya Scrappy Scavenger upcycle blog hop. I am pleased to be part of this wonderful group of talented ladies in this hop. For this hop, we are suppose to create a project that uses something you would recycle, or throw away, and make it a beautiful project. I took a plastic grocery bag and created and album from it. Her is how I did it.....

Start with a flat plastic bag, then you fold the plastic bag to make it flat and create a square shape. Once the plastic bag is folded, then you would get your iron out. Set your iron on a hot setting(cotton is what I used) then placing a piece of paper over the folded up plastic bag you would iron it. Don't over iron it because the plastic bag could stick to the paper.

When the plastic bags are melted together in a square shape they are just stable as chipboard. After you make five or six flat bags, then you can cover them with cardstock or themed paper.

In Creating my album I decided to go with a fall theme. Here is the album I came up with...

I hope that this project gets you think outside of the box. You go and find something that you might have thrown away and create a beautiful project from it. I think that is why I was excited about finding this idea. I took a use less plastic bag and created a beautiful fall album from it. Thanks for joining me. Now you would move onto the next blog http://www.lovetocrop.com/ .See you again when I come up with something new in my corner.

Shimmering Shamrock Blog Hop 3/13-19

Good Morning to all of you joining me today. I first want to say "Happy St Patrick's Day". I want to welcome you to Tanya's "Scrappy Scavenger's Shimmering Shamrock" Blog Hop. I am so happy to join this group of talented ladies for my first ever blog hop. If you came from Nancy Owen's blog,
http://www.fancywithnancy.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right place. If you are just strarting and want to see all of these beautiful projects then you would start back at Tanya's Scrappy Scavenger's blog,
www.ScrappyScavenger.blogspot.com .
I love St Patrick''s Day, not only because I am part Irish and have red hair, but because I love green. I love to wear green, drink green beer, eat green eggs and ham. All the fun stuff assoicated with this day. I am very happy to be part of this shimmering shamrock extravaganza.

I wanted to make a banner for this jolly oh holiday. I went with the typical saying, Happy St.Patricks Day. I cut the lettering at 5 inches from Birthday Bash. Like I have said in past post before that this is one of my new favorite Cartidges. I use it a lot for the font and there are tons of cute cuts. To go over the cream color cardstock of each font letter I used Tim Holtz's Distress ink (pelled paint) . The background is white 5x6 cards I cut in half. Over each piece I used some more green distress ink on them. For the greeen  boarder I cut  from Plantain Schoolbook it was cut at 6 1/2 iches and distress around the edges with the greeen ink. I made it pop by using adhesive pop dots.

The two Leprechauns I cut @ 5 inches using the Paper Doll Dress up cartidge. Using Momento black ink I stamped with peachy keen stamps to make the faces and pink chalk for the cheeks. I hightlighted the clothing and rainbow with some stickles. This makes the images pop. To create the 1 inch shamrocks on the font.  I put elmers glue and sprinkled them with Martha Stewart's green glitter. I added some ribbon to tie it all together. To create a beautiful shimmering shamrock banner. I love how this came out and I hope you do.

My Recipe:Green, cream, and white cardstock
Cricut cartridges, Birthday Bash, Paper Doll dress up,
glitter
elmers glue
pop dots
stickles
Tim Holtz distress ink
ribbon
Now onto some blog candy. If you become a follower and leave a comment you will have a chance to win.
I you hope you enjoyed your time here and I hope you have a "Happy Green Day". Now you will move onto Shannon's blog, http://www.purplelionpaper.com. See you again soon in my little corner.

Scrappy Scavenger Heart Charm Swap

Welcome back to my little corner. I found my groove and ready to show you what I have been up to lately.  I decided to challenge myself and start doing some swaps. Through my sister I have found two wonderful groups I can swap with. Through these groups I have gone out of my comfort zone and created beautiful projects. The project above is my charm that I made for the Feburary swap for Scrappy Scavenger Swap group.

What I used:
Cricut Cart Love Struck
cereal boxes
red, green, black and white cardstock
utee/ heating pot
clear stickles
silver acrilic paint
Clear Lacquer
 glue
beads
wire cutters
wire round pliers

How I created this charm.....
I used Love Struck cartidge to cut the rose @ 2 inches, lips @ 1 inch, wings @ 6 iches, and love sign @ 2 inches. For the cut heart I used George and Basic Shapes. I cut the open heart three times at 3 inches out of cereal boxes and then cut one heart at 3 inches. To cut cereal boxes I had to use the deep blade for the cricut. I find that if you tape the sides of the cardboard down it tends to not move and it cuts clean.
I then painted the open hearts silver. I layered each heart taped them together. I used red cardstock to cover the bottom heart.  For the rose to have the layered effect I glued the open rose to the shadow rose. I then cut a green rose to cut the bottom for the stem.  I layered  lips with the top layer out of red cardstock and bottom black. I put clear lacquer on the top of the rose and lips. It gave a more realistic look.  I used stickles on the word love. For the wings I heated up utee in a Ranger heating pot. I diped the wings in the utee to get that effect. For the top of the charm I used heart and pearl beads and put them on some wire. I attched a jump ring on top and on the bottom. I attached the heart charm to the bottom jump ring and lobster claw to the top one. Presto my charm is completed. After creating this charm  I want to create more. I hope that my project gave you some insipration to create your own charms.

Thanks for coming to my corner and visiting. See you again soon.

Happy Valentines Day

Here are a few projects I had made for Valentines day. After seeing this card being made by a few of my crafty friends. I decided I needed to try and create one. This is a super simple card that took me very little time to make. All you need is cute paper, a gypsy to weld two hearts together, some ribbon, pearls and a gel pen.

Create a simple gift for your love.  A coupon book is a little token to show someone you care. I used Birthday Bash for the lettering, the coupons were from fabulous finds and I used a white gel pen to highlight it.
Cute little decor made from Birthday Bash. I love this cart because it is fun and you can use is for any project you need to make.

Happy creating. I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day.

Create a Critter-Hippo Birthday

I love purple, so I decided to create a fun birthday card using my number one favorite color. I designed this card for the (Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge. This is my first time I have done this challenge. This challenge we are suppose to create a project using the Create a Critter cartridge. I loved this hippo so decided to cut this hippo at 4" and used three different shades of purple to make the layers of her. Using a metallic purple I shadowed all around her. Stamped Hippo Birthday which is from Pink Stampers-More Punnylicious stamps. This card turned out super sweet and I love it. I am so glad I was able to find some time to escape to my little corner and thank you for coming back and seeing my creations.
